Course Content

Program Description

This course is designed for students wishing to embark on a professional career in business and management. It will help you develop analysis and evaluation skills which can be applied to real-world situations. You will develop your knowledge and understanding of the various functional areas of business, including management, marketing, human resources, finance and operations management within a global context. You will also be equipped with the skills required to be successful in business, such as entrepreneurship, digital literacy, collaborative working and communication skills.

Having completed this course, you will be able to effectively apply a range of management and business theories and practices in an entrepreneurial and innovative manner.

At the end of this course, you, will be able to:

  1. Develop and apply research, writing, numerical, digital and peronal skills within a business context.

  2. Develop skills of independent learning, analysis, synthesis and critical thinking through the application of business and management concepts, principles and the related underpinning theories appropriate to a wide range of business organisations and situations.

  3. Apply relevant transferable skills to a career in business and management, for example, managing projects, communication, working in teams, research and being able to critically reflect on the effectiveness of your own skills and knowledge.

  4. Examine contemporary and strategic issues through the application of relevant concepts, models and theories.

  5. Evaluate and demonstrate an informed understanding of the ethical responsibilities contributing to your professional values and role in an organisation and wider society - in the 21st century.

  6. Critically appraise relevant knowledge and understanding of organisations, the external environment in which they operate and management theory when assessing and solving problems in different business scenarios.

Entry Requirement
Pass STPM with minimum CGPA 2.0 or 2 credits in any subjects; OR
Pass UEC with 5Bs; OR
Pass A Level with Min.CDD or equivalent of min. 200 points ; OR
Pass MDIS Diploma with minimum CGPA 2.0; OR
Pass Matriculation with minimum CGPA 2.0; OR
Pass Diploma (Level 4 KKM) from institution registered by the Malaysian Government with CGPA 2.0; OR
Othe requivalent qualifications as recognized by the Malaysian Government
Additional Criteria
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 
Score of 6.0 (with Minimum of 5.5 in each element); OR

SPM English 1119 with credits; OR

Other qualification will be considered as a case-by-case basic

On completing the course, you will be equipped with the background for a wide variety of positions in business. You will have developed skills and background knowledge needed for a wide variety of business areas, and learned the fundamentals of the various functional areas of business, including management, marketing, human resources, finance, including operations and management systems.

Whilst many of these careers are open to graduates in any subject, some employers may specify, or give preference to graduates in business-related subjects. A career in business is varied and can involve the functions such as management and marketing and there is an increasing need for business management skills in government, international commerce, health care, and non-profit organisations. Careers as entry-level manager, Human Resources specialist, Assistant Product Manager, Business Analyst, Market Researcher are some of the possibilities.
