Program Description

Accounting has been defined as the measurement and disclosure offinancial information that is used by managers, investors and others to makedecisions about the allocation of resources within organisations.

Accounting is much more than just the mechanical manipulation offinancial data to produce company accounts. The methods for preparingaccounting information must be applied with judgement, and with anunderstanding of the purposes for which the information will be used. A widerange of decision makers need to understand the key principles which underpin acost or profit figure produced by an accountant.

By studying for a degree in Accounting and Finance, you willacquire skills that are central to the management of organisations, formeasuring performance and maintaining the cash flows that are essential for theprosperity of any private company or public sector organisation.

Entry Requirement

i. Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Band 2

AND

ii. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or its equivalent, with a minimum Grade C+ (CGPA 2.33) in any two subjects and credit in Mathematics at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level; OR

iii. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Jayyid and credit in Mathematics at SPM level; OR

iv. Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with 5 credits; OR
v. A diploma (Level 4, MQF) in Accounting or related field, or its equivalent with a minimum of CGPA of 2.50; OR
vi. Matriculation / Foundation qualification or its equivalent with a minimum of CGPA of 2.50 and credit in Mathematics at SPM level; OR
vii. Other related equivalent qualifications recognised by the Government of Malaysia.

• For International students,  Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 550 OR International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score 5.5 OR its equivalent.

Remarks  
* Local students without credit in Bahasa Melayu in SPM are compulsory to take Bahasa Kebangsaan A in U2 at any level.
** All degree students including local students who have obtained credit Bahasa Melayu in SPM and who have taken Bahasa Kebangsaan A at earlier level will take MPU3333 Entrepreneurship.
