Program Description

Banking and financial services is a highly competitive and rapidlychanging sector in every modern economy and this course prepares you to takleit head on. In recent years, forces such as globalisation, technologicalchange, deregulation and international integration have fundamentallytransformed the banking and financial services sector. Banks have responded togrowing competitive pressure by diversifying into new activities. Insurancecompanies and pension funds have also grown rapidly and non-bank institutionssuch as supermarkets and telecommunications firms now compete directly infinancial services markets.

A degree in Banking and Finance offers you the opportunity to study the theory and practice of financial services and financial markets, and to analyse the broader role of the financial sector in the national and global economies

Entry Requirement
i. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or its equivalent, with a minimum Grade C+ (GGPA 2.33) in any 2 subjects and pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) (or any equivalent qualification) with credit in Mathematics at SPM level and pass in English ; OR
ii. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Jayyid and pass Sin PM (or any equivalent qualification) with credit in Mathematics at SPM level and pass in English ; OR
iii. Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with 5 credits ; OR
iv. Any qualification equivalent to Diploma in Finance, Banking, Insurance or related field (Level 4, MQF) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00 ; OR
v. Matriculation/ Foundation qualification or its equivalent qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00, and pass SPM (or any equivalent qualification) with credit in Mathematics and pass in English; OR

vi. Other related equivalent qualifications recognised by the Government of Malaysia. 

• International Students are required to achieve a minimum score of 6.0 (with no element below 5.5) for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) OR its equivalent.

Note: The credit requirement for Mathematics and pass in English at SPM level for category (i), (ii) and (v) can be waived should the qualifications contain Mathematics and English subjects with equivalent/higher achievement.
