Course Content

Program Description

By taking a degree in Business Studies, you will develop a broad understanding of business organisations. You will learn how businesses develop strategies, make decisions, organise their internal resources, and manage risk and uncertainty.

Business and marketing case studies form an integral part of many of the modules, especially during the later stages of your course programme. In a case study, information is presented about a firm’s products, markets, financial structure, human resources and other factors that may influence its success. During your course you will discuss and analyse strategies and actions that the firm should take in the future.

Your degree in Business Studies will provide insights and expertise in specific business functions such as marketing, human resource management, accounting and finance. You will study specialised topics such as entrepreneurship and international business. You will also develop awareness of the wider environment in which businesses operate, by studying subjects such as business economics and business law.

Entry Requirement
i. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or its equivalent, with a minimum Grade C+ (GGPA 2.33) in any 2 subjects and pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) (or any equivalent qualification) with credit in Mathematics at SPM level and pass in English ; OR
ii. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Jayyid and pass SPM (or any equivalent qualification) with credit in Mathematics at SPM level and pass in English ; OR
iii. Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with 5 credits ; OR
iv. Any qualification equivalent to or advanced Diploma (Level 4 or 5, MQF) OR
v. Matriculation/ Foundation / Pre-University with a minimum of CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00or any equivalent qualification) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00 or any equivalent qualification OR
vi. Other related equivalent qualifications recognised by the Government of Malaysia. 
AND
• Students are required to achieve a minimum score of 6.0 for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) OR its equivalent.



Remarks  


* Local students without credit in Bahasa Melayu in SPM are compulsory to take Bahasa Kebangsaan A in U2 at any level.
** All degree students including local students who have obtained credit Bahasa Melayu in SPM and who have taken Bahasa Kebangsaan A at earlier level will take MPU3333 Entrepreneurship.
