eSport Carnival 2019

Kolej MDIS Malaysia is deeply committed to the development of Industry in Malaysia. Our support for eSports is witness by our co-sponsorship of the Iskandar Investment eSport Carnival to be held on 30th and 31st March at the Educity Indoor Stadium.

The soft launch of this exciting event was officiated by Mr Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman the Youth and Sports Minister on 16 March 2019.

River Clean Up
27 APRIL 2019

68 students and staff of the college spent join volunteers for all walks of life for a half a day effort on 27th April 2019 to clear the rubbish at the river bank surrounding at Kampung Bakar Batu in JB. This is an area of the river mouth that has existing swamps which is essential to the ego system. The fish population depends on small fish breed in such areas. 

The excited students came early to college to take the transport provided to do their part in keeping helping our environment. There also took part in some stretching exercises before starting to clear the river bank. 

Minister of Education, Dr. Maszlee visits EduCity in Iskandar Puteri, Johor

Minister of Education, Dr. MaszleeMalik had paid a visit to EduCity in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, to get a closerlook at the unique concept and education opportunities offered at the fullyintegrated education hub. Higher Education Department Director-General, DatinPaduka Ir. Dr. Siti Hamisah Tapsir and Chairman of Education Malaysia GlobalServices, Dato’ Abdul Rahman Mohamed Shariff, accompanied the minister during thehalf-day site visit.

EduCity currently has nine education partners; some are offering best-of-class education by opening their leading faculties at the RM 800 million Iskandar Puteri campus ground. The education luminaries at EduCity are Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia (NuMed),University of Southampton Malaysia Campus (USMC), University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM), Netherlands Maritime Institute of Technology (NMIT),Multimedia University (MMU), Raffles University Iskandar (RUI), Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS), Marlborough College Malaysia(MCM) and Raffles American School (RAS). There are over 4,000 students currently pursuing their primary, secondary and tertiary education at EduCity and the hub has produced over 3,000 graduates who have entered the local and international workforce, especially in the robust Iskandar Malaysia corridor.

Career Talks - Accounting
30 APRIL 2019

The Accounting students spend 2 hours with representatives from The Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) on 30 April 2019.

The representatives share with the students the broad career opportunities available to students with accounting qualifications. They also shared the different routes to becoming a professional in the field which in Malaysia is facing a major shortage compared to the national target of 60,000 professionals by 2020.

The Managing Partner of Grant Thornton JB, Mr Wong, shared his varied experience in the industry and encouraged student to pursue Audit and Accountancy as a profession.
